Pristine Palau - Press release

Koror, March 17, 2025 (9:00 am GMT+10). Se the president SURANGEL S. WHIPPS, JR. received today Professor Gunter Pauli, the author of the Blue Economy and a well -known innovator who presented his latest book Pristine Palau. This 200 -page pocket book is full of surprises and innovations. Pauli, who has designed the economic growth of countries like Argentina and Morocco, and which has established successful strategies to double the population on islands like El Hierro (Spain) and Bonaire (Caribbean), presents a portfolio of opportunities that would bring palaos back to the house, and motivate investors to participate in local projects.

Palaos are known for their exceptional biodiversity. Pauli pleads in favor of electronic DNA, which he calls "the gold of the sea". It focuses on identifying sequences which, over the years, could constitute a solid asset for palaos. He then offers new underwater communication systems, starting with the possibility of talking to each other between people immersed in the water. He explains how video transmission from the camera to the boat eliminates the problems related to memory cards and facilitates the cartography and monitoring of coral reefs.

In a chapter on useful tourism, Mr. Pauli announces a new diving program including the participation of divers in the sampling of DNA using a precise underwater GPS, which was considered impossible so far. Pauli calls it data cultivation, as opposed to data exploitation, arguing that Palau can collect the information that the country needs. When asked why he proposed to launch these innovations to the Palaos and not in Japan, he points out that the change occurs quickly on the outskirts: "The center will always resist creative destruction, while the small nations will see the possibilities of leaps forward".

The president of the Palaos salutes the book: “He convinces me of the potential of a small nation. Pauli clearly explains that we should not try to be competitive by being cheap, but that we should generate more value, starting with our biodiversity ”. Stan Shih, the founder of the Acer group, wrote in the foreword that "Palau surprises". The octogenarian accompanied Pauli to Palau to emphasize how ready to invest in business models offered by Pauli.

The pocket book is printed on stone paper, made from mining waste without a drop of water and without cutting a single tree. This paper is made up of 80 % rock dust and 20 % polymer and can be infinitely recycled (also without a drop of water).
