Gunter's Fables – Second box set available!

Have you ever seen a book made of stone?

I will explain how at the end of this article,

What are Gunter's Fables?

In this article, we will discover in less than 5 minutes what Gunter's Fables are and what they can offer your children or grandchildren!

Gunter's Fables is a collection of 365 stories, inspired by Nature.

The author, Gunter Pauli, is an economist, educator, and pioneering entrepreneur in the zero-emission and regenerative economy concepts. He created the Blue Economy concept, a pioneering approach. His philosophy? Nature doesn't produce waste, so let's take inspiration from nature!

For the past thirty years, he has dedicated part of his time to educating younger generations to inspire them to become Entrepreneurs of the Common Good!

For the past 15 years, his Fables have been used worldwide, notably in China where they are present in over 800,000 schools. China, an emerging power, invests heavily in the education of its future generations and understands that nature has much to teach us.
His fables are accessible to children aged 3 to 15 and are designed to evolve; as children read them, they revisit the fables, absorbing the information in new ways. At a young age, they will be inspired by the concept and amused by the many surprises. Then, as they grow older, they will understand how they too can take action, grasp the science behind the magic of nature, and perhaps discover a calling: to become an entrepreneur for the common good!

All the Fables are bilingual, partly in English and partly in the local language—in this case, French-English. It was in Curitiba, Brazil, that Gunter and the local educational team discovered that children, without ever having practiced English, simply by being exposed to the English translation and allowing their curiosity to flourish, learned several hundred vocabulary words in a single year. It's also an excellent tool for learning languages in a fun and engaging way.

Gunter's Fables cover 7 main categories: Water, Health, Energy, Work, Housing, Food, and Education & Ethics

The pedagogical structure of the Fables

The structure offers many advantages; each story always follows the same educational structure. Let's discover it together!

First, the child discovers the story, a dialogue between two characters, joyfully illustrated! The story is inspiring and highlights a natural phenomenon, a problem, or a surprise!

For example, why is the zebra black and white? How did the apple climb the tree? There are at least 7 laws of physics necessary for this feat, or perhaps the power of a whale's heart! The praying mantis that practices karate! Or how do elephants perform funeral rituals?.

Then comes the section “ Did you know? ” which will provide the child with general knowledge on the subject.

For example, in the fable "Fishing Without a Net," we learn that there is no cessation of reproduction in grandmother fish; the older the female fish, the more eggs she lays! Fishing rules that dictate we should only catch large fish therefore misunderstand biology! And the fable offers a much more effective approach!
Think About It section , which raises ethical questions surrounding the topic, a way to challenge the child and plant positive seeds for their worldview.

Then, a section “ Your turn to play ”, a fun experience, which will lead the child to do an action inspired by the Fables.

The 5 intelligences

Once these sections have been explored, we move on to the part the author calls "The 5 Intelligences." This
section covers science, emotional intelligence, the arts, the ability to build relationships, and the ability to take action.
Through the science section, your child will find avenues for exploring the subject through biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, economics, ethics, history, geography, mathematics, lifestyle, sociology, psychology, and systems theory.

Giving teachers from several subjects the opportunity to work together with children and create a multidisciplinary approach to the same subject!

In emotional intelligence, your child will discover in more detail the personalities of the two protagonists who interact in the fable. By recognizing their character traits and personalities, the child learns to identify their own functioning and that of their loved ones! "I am curious like the dolphin, wise like the whale, and provocative like the monkey!".

Artistic intelligence is a new proposal to take action; art allows a child, in many different ways—drawing, singing, dancing, etc.—to express something they have just discovered in a simple and creative way.

The fourth intelligence, often called ecosystemic thinking, is our ability to make connections. Our world is not divided or segmented; we are part of a multitude of interconnected factors, and it is with an understanding of this "Web of Life" that we can build a balanced and harmonious world. In this section, children can put the fable's theme into perspective, considering the challenges facing humanity.

The final intelligence is the ability to take initiative, our capacity to act. To create momentum, a concrete, positive, and pragmatic action is proposed to the child so they can share their discovery! For example, writing a new treatise on fishing!

And finally, each Fable is inspired by a woman or a man, scientist, entrepreneur or adventurer who contributes to the common good.

Then a page to encourage you to join our community of common good entrepreneurs, to create connections and work together!

But as I mentioned at the beginning of the video, it's stone paper! Indeed, Gunter's Fables are printed on stone paper, an impressive ecological innovation. Made from 80% stone dust, fused with HDPE and a little chalk, it creates a sheet of paper without using water or trees. Completely waterproof, virtually tear-proof, and infinitely recyclable! An eco-friendly solution that eliminates waste and provides a concrete way to preserve our freshwater reserves and beautiful forests.
I've included more information about the paper in the description, and you'll also find the link to the free educational booklet.

You can order Gunter's Fables box sets directly from the website; each box set contains 5 Fables and an educational booklet!

Don't forget, it takes a heartbeat to open the box!

Currently, Blue Education's mission is to reissue all 365 Fables; currently, they are only available in Chinese, but thanks to you and your commitment, we will have many more fables available each year.
